Rivermen Sign Golden Gloves Champ

Peoria Rivermen Head Coach Jason Christie announced today the signing of Right Wing Jeremy Yablonski to a standard ECHL contract. The 6', 215 pound winger played for Idaho last year in the WCHL. Idaho lost to Fresno for the Taylor Cup, four games to two. In his 2nd year professionally Yablonski was whistled for 303 penalty minutes in 69 games, 4th most in the league. The Steelheads finished first overall in the WCHL with a record of 47-17-8.

Yablonski is a six-time Golden Gloves winner and from 1993 to 1996 captured the Saskatchewan Provincial boxing championship three years running. Yablonski currently lives in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan and will be in Peoria, with his wife Erin, sometime in September.
