Rivermen Set Roster for Friday's Opener

PEORIA - The Peoria Rivermen have made final cuts and have set the roster for this weekend's season openers against the Huntsville Havoc.
The deadline to finalize the opening roster was today. Those released before the deadline were forwards Dean Yakura, Alec Hagaman and Tyler Amburgey and defenseman Eric Schumacher. Ben Warda was signed to a three-game tryout, and Central Hockey League veteran Matt Summers signed with the Rivermen on Wednesday.
The roster for Friday opener will include:
Forwards: Dan Bremner, Alexandre Carrier, Max Cook, Josh Harris, Steve Morra, Dennis Sicard, Jordan Sims, Shawn Skelly, Matt Summers, Jake Trask, Ben Warda.
Defensemen: Paul Arnott, Mike MacIntyre, Cole Ruwe, Mike Slowikowski, Nick Wheeler, Rich Zobak.
Goaltenders: Eric Levine, Kyle Rank.
The Rivermen open the season on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:05 against the Huntsville Havoc, who finished last season tied for fourth place just two points behind Peoria. The weekend is "Bruce Saurs Hockey Weekend in Peoria" featuring all seats for only $8, special jerseys worn by the Rivermen to be auctioned after Saturday's game, $2 hot dogs and $2 drafts and magnetic schedules to the first 1,500 fans each night courtesy of Heritage Bank. All Rivermen games can be heard live via the Fanzone tab on www.rivermen.net and viewed via subscription video at SPHLLive.com.
Single game tickets for Peoria's 33rd season of professional hockey are on sale weekdays at the Peoria Civic Center. Season ticket packages and group ticket options for the 2014-15 campaign are on sale now through the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, or over the phone at (309) 676-1040.
