The Flames dropped a 4-1 decision to Peoria on Wednesday night at the i wireless Center. The game was highlighted by a flurry of goals early in the second and Dan Ryder's first tally of 2008-09. The teams will meet in a rematch on Friday night in the Quad Cities.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Flames struck first when Dan Ryder scored exactly one minute into the middle period. Ryder grabbed a feed from Adam Cracknell and sent a shot from the left wing circle and into the Peoria net. The Rivermen responded 43 seconds later when Cam Paddock scored on a 2-on-1 rush with an assist from Brad Winchester. Peoria took the lead for the first time just 19 seconds later when Chris Conner cut into Flames territory and slid to the middle of the ice before beating Flames netminder Matt Keetley for his sixth goal of the season.

The Flames pushed for a third period equalizer but could not dent the twice behind Peoria netminder Ben Bishop. Steve Regier netted an insurance goal with 3:50 remaining. The tally was Regier's fifth goal of the year vs. Quad City and his ninth marker overall. Trent Whitfield added a shorthanded empty net goal with 90 seconds left to insure the Rivermen win.

The Flames are back on the ice Friday night vs. Peoria at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available now at the i wireless Center Box Office, via phone at (563) 326-1111 or on-line at ticketmaster.com.
