Mississippi RiverKings News Release

BOSSIER CITY---The Memphis RiverKings evened the score with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs with a 3-2 shoot-out win on Saturday night at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City. Memphis was coming off a 7-4 defeat to the Mudbugs last night.

Don Parsons scored the first goal of the game and the clincher in the shoot-out to lead his team to the win. Goaltender David Lemanowicz played well in the nets making 40 saves including four in the shoot-out for the win. Phil Aucoin gave the lead back to the RiverKings at 17:10 of the third on a loose puck in front of the Mudbug goal that he cashed in for his second goal of the season. Scott Shepard scored a power play goal that tied the game at two with 11:10 remaining. After the scoreless overtime period, the 'Kings won when Chis Migliore scored in the shoot-out on their second attempt. Parsons was in the fifth slot and clinched it as Bossier went scoreless in the shoot-out.

The Mudbugs outshot the RiverKings 16-3 in the first period and 42-24 for the game, but it was Memphis making the most of their scoring chances improving to 4-4 on the season.

The Mudbugs fall to 2-4-1.
