Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Memphis RiverKings will show off their bowling skills when the team hosts its annual "RiverKings of the Alley" on January 21 at 3 pm. The RiverKings With A Cause (KWAC) event will take place at Cotton Bowl Lanes at the corner of Stateline Road and Highway 51 in Southaven. Through a silent auction benefiting KWAC, fans will have a chance to bowl with their favorite RiverKings player or even Head Coach Kevin McClelland.
From 3 to 5 pm, the fans and players will bowl three games of what is called "Cosmic Bowling." For "Cosmic Bowling," the lights are turned down and, with a combination of lights and music, a whole different bowling atmosphere is created.
"This is a fun way for the fans to interact with the players and raise money for charity at the same time," KWAC coordinator Cristin Franklin said.
Each player and Coach McClelland will have their own bowling lane. Up to five fans will be able to bowl with a player or the coach on a given lane. Shoe rental will be included with each winning bid. There will also be a raffle and prize giveaways during the event as well.
The silent auction will take place at the KWAC table on the DCC concourse behind section 118 beginning with the RiverKings' game on January 7. Bidding will close at the RiverKings' 2 p.m. game on January 20.
Call Cristin in the RiverKings office at 662-342-1755 for more information.
