Eagles Still Atop CHL Coach's Poll

January 4, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Colorado Eagles have maintained their top position in the Central Hockey League Coach's Poll, claiming the #1 ranking for the third straight poll and fifth time this season. The Eagles picked up 15 first place votes, and have rattled off 11 straight wins to lead the CHL with both 22 victories and 44 points.

The Memphis RiverKings retained their second place ranking (receiving a pair of first place votes) while the Laredo Bucks and Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, last season's Ray Miron President's Cup Finalists, have moved into positions 3 and 4 respectively. The Mudbugs showed the biggest improvement, not ranked in the December 20th poll but posting a record of 5-0-1 since to jump to #4, their highest ranking of the season to date. The Amarillo Gorillas also rejoin the top 10 at #9, their first appearance since a #10 ranking on November 15th.

Throughout the season the CHL will release the results of the Coaches Poll. Each first place selection earns 10 points, second place earns 9 points, etc. Coaches cannot vote for their own team, creating a potential perfect score of 160 points should one club receive all 16 possible first place votes. Previous week results listed below current week.
