Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The RiverKings (7-3-0) won their fourth game in a row Sunday over the Peoria Rivermen (6-3-2) 4-3 in overtime at the Landers Center. Two power play goals on two attempts would play factor in the RIverKings tying the game up twice with the Rivermen who did not score on either of their two opportunites.

Mike Moran started the scoring off for the RiverKings in the first after Cullen Bradshaw won a board battle behind the Rivermen net to center a pass to Matt Harrington who deflected the puck to Moran. The answer from the Rivermen came quick on a puck that bounced off a defending players stick right to Ryan Keller in the slot to tie the game at one.

The Rivermen took a lead in the second period after Donald Olivieri scored on his former team from the point. The RiverKings answer came on the power play after Dave Pszenyczny went to the box for a hooking call, Cullen Bradshaw freed himself up to the right of the goalmouth for a backdoor pass from Mike Grace at the left point.

Peoria regained the lead in the third on John Daniels first goal of the season. Chris Luker brought it back even once again on the power play on a shot from the right circle to beat Tyler Green on his blocker side.

It took thirteen seconds for the RiverKings to end it in overtime, Cullen Bradshaw received a give and go pass entering in to the zone from Mike Moran before Tyler Green could get over to the near post and give the RiverKings their fourth win in a row.

Peter Di Salvo (3-0-0) won his third game of the season with 14 saves and Tyler Green (4-1-2) was handed his second overtime loss after stopping 33.

The RiverKings look for win number five Wednesday in Pensacola against the Ice Flyers with first period puck drop scheduled at 6:35p.m.(CT).
