RiverKings set season-opening roster

SOUTHAVEN --- Memphis RiverKings Head Coach Kevin McClelland announced the team's 18 player roster for the season opener this Friday night. Goalie Eric Marvin and forward Tristan Senior were placed on waivers today with defenseman Chad McIver placed on the extended training camp list. The league is allowing teams to have up to three players on an extended training camp list until October 25 due to the immigration problems that many of the teams experienced.

McClelland also announced Tuesday on the RiverKings weekly radio show on Sports 56 WHBQ that Derek Landmesser will be the team's captain while Louis Dumont and Travis Banga will be the assistant captains.

The RiverKings open their 15th season when they host the Youngstown Steelhounds at 7:05 on Friday. The first 1,500 fans 21 and older through the doors that night will receive a Miller Lite RiverKings Magnet Schedule.
