Cotton Kings Assisting in Hockey Ministries International Banquet

LUBBOCK, TX: October 18, 2006 - Hockey Ministries International (HMI) is hosting their fifth annual Texas Banquet Tuesday, October 24th from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Live Oak Community Church and several Cotton Kings members will be on hand to share their testimony on how HMI has touched their life.

The event is a celebration of all that God has been doing through HMI-Texas in the past five years. There will be food, a silent and live auction and guest speakers for the event. There is no cost to attend and those attending will be asked to prayerfully consider how they might partner with HMI. On-site child care will also be provided for the event at Live Oak Community Church (10710 S. Frankford). Attendees need to contact Doug Holcomb to RSVP by either emailing him at doug@hockeyministries.org or calling 241-3639.

Since 1977, Hockey Ministries International has been active in every area of hockey including youth, college and junior, European, Minor Pro, and the NHL. Through camps, chapels, clinics, and conferences HMI serves the spiritual needs of players, coaches, families and fans. This past offseason, Kings defenseman Stacey Bauman was very active with HMI and served as an instructor in several HMI youth hockey camps, including one in College Station, which is the only Texas based HMI camp location. Former Kings member Paul Fioroni has also assisted the HMI program over the years and will be on hand at the upcoming event.

The Cotton Kings are currently preparing for their eighth season of professional hockey in the South Plains. The season opener is set for Saturday, October 21st, as Lubbock hosts the Odessa Jackalopes at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.
