Mississippi RiverKings News Release
(Southaven, MS) --- The Mississippi RiverKings were involved in the recent Cameron Harper - Eyewitness News Celebrity Putt Putt Tournament, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis, held at Golf and Games Family Park on Summer Avenue in Memphis. The fifth annual event was held on Saturday, June 27th and was hosted again by ABC 24/CW 30 Eyewitness News anchor Cameron Harper.
RiverKings forward and assistant captain Louis Dumont and RiverKings mascot Sheldon the Turtle were among the local celebrities involved in the tournament. Dumont took part as a celebrity player and Sheldon greeted those who were in attendance during the event.
Prior to this year's event, the Cameron Harper - Eyewitness News Celebrity Putt Putt Tournament had raised over $90,000 for the children and families of Ronald McDonald House of Memphis. That total was expected to go over the $100,00 mark after this year's event.
Ronald McDonald House is a "home-away-from-home" for families who are in Memphis while their child is receiving treatment for cancer or another catastrophic illness at St Jude Children's Research Hospital. All families stay completely free of charge.
The RiverKings look forward to supporting charitable activities that improve the quality of life in the Mid-South region. If your organization would like to have members of the RiverKings be a part of your event, please contact Community Development Director Whitley Rives at 662-342-1755, or email her at whitley@riverkings.com.
