Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
IceRays General Manager/Senior VP, Pat Dunn announced today the signing of veteran forward, Chad Woollard. The Durham, Ontario native will be playing in his 11th year of professional hockey. Woollard has had (6) 30+ goals seasons throughout his career. The IceRays are currently in preparation for the 2009-2010 season. Season tickets and corporate sponsorship packages are available. Woollard, is no stranger to the Central Hockey League, where he played five seasons with the Fort Worth Brahmas and the Memphis Riverkings. The 6'3, 210 pound winger played last season for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the IHL where he scored 33 goals and 24 assists in 50 games.
"Chad is a great addition to our hockey club, his scoring touch and his hard shot will be welcomed on our power play. He will also bring size and toughness to our team." said Pat Dunn, General Manager.
"Hughesy and I have been talking for a while. It was a pretty easy decision because he said that he was putting a great team together plus I want to stay in Texas and that was a big key component. Hughesy has always been great at getting a group of guys together and turning them into an awesome team. I have heard great things about the organization and I look forward to being down in Corpus playing another season of hockey." said Chad.
IceRays Head Coach Brent Hughes has been working on getting Chad signed since the season ended. "He has been one of the top goal scorers in the Central League over the past years. Chad has an NHL shot and we are looking for him to build on our power play and put the puck in the net for us this year."
Corpus Christi IceRays hockey returns for a brand new season in October. Don't miss a second of the fast-paced, hard-hitting action of IceRays hockey as they cool off the Coastal Bend. Season tickets and corporate sponsorship packages are available. For more information please call the IceRays at 361.814.PUCK or visit them online at www.ccrayz.com.
