RiverKings on Road for First Round of the Playoffs
March 20, 2014 - SPHL (SPHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release
As your Mississippi RiverKings prepare for their third consecutive run at the President's Cup in 2014, I want to thank you for your support. This has been one of the most exciting seasons in RiverKings hockey, both on and off the ice, and it would not be possible without our fans and partners.
Some of you may have already heard of our lack of ice at the Landers Center for the first round of the playoffs due to the booking of the Circus. We have spent the past month exhausting all options to bring a playoff game as close to the North Mississippi area as possible. Unfortunately, for the first round, we will have to do our work on the road for the possible three games against our yet-to-be-determined opponent. We apologize to our fans and sponsors who wanted to see their team in the playoffs. It's a situation that we are just as unhappy about as you are.
We are working with our potential opponents to come up with packages for our season ticket holders and sponsors who wish to travel to the away games and we will continue our Away Game Watch Parties throughout the playoffs.
To our season ticket holders who have free tickets to the first round of the playoffs included in their season ticket package: you will receive tickets to the second round playoff games. On the extremely unlikely event that the RiverKings do not advance to the second round, you will receive a refund for the amount of the playoff ticket applied to next year's season tickets or a cash refund.
Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience and we thank you for your continued support of your Mississippi RiverKings!
Sincerely,
Derek Landmesser
Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations
