The tournament annually supports the Jr. StreetKings youth roller hockey program of Hernando Youth Sports. Members of the RiverKings and coach Kevin "Killer" Kaminski will be taking active roles in the event, along with both mascots. For more information, contact Cristin Franklin at the RiverKings offices, 662-342-1755.

The Mid-South Fair is winding down in Southaven and when you come out to the fair on Saturday, October 3rd, you'll be able to see RiverKings mascot RiverThing strolling the grounds, so be sure to say hello and see if he's checking out any of the cotton candy!

Another Saturday event on October 3rd will have the RiverKings players meeting and greeting residents of the North Creek Apartments, 8786 North Creek Boulevard, just off Stateline Road West, in Southaven. This event will take place from noon to 3 PM.

The annual National "Night Against Crime" will be observed at Yogi Bear's Jellystone RV Park, 1400 Audubon Point Drive (east side of U.S. Highway 51, south of Nail Road). The program is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relationships, and send a message to criminals that the community is organized to fight crime. Sheldon and RiverThing will be on hand, along with the RiverKings' inflatable "Slap-Shot" for youngsters to test their hockey shooting skills. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the Horn Lake Neighborhood Watch Program.

Sheldon and RiverThing will make an appearance to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association's "Stride and Ride" at the Memphis Zoo, 2000 Prentiss Place in Memphis, from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, October 10th. It will be the sixth annual event to help support the fight against muscular dystrophy.
