(Southaven, MS) - An agreement has been reached with the Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League for the Key West Inn and Suites of Southaven to serve as the "Official Host Hotel" for the franchise during the 2008-09 season.

In their role as "Official Host Hotel," the Key West Inn and Suites will be the headquarters base for visiting CHL teams while in Southaven.

The Key West Inn and Suites is conveniently located near the DeSoto Civic Center at 5115 Pepperchase Blvd. in Southaven. The location is part of the franchise of Key West Inns and Suites located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The Southaven facility has 47 guest rooms with either one king or two-queen size beds. They are equipped with several amenities, such as a continental breakfast, refrigerators, microwaves, free high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, and coffee makers in their rooms.

The operators of the Key West Inn and Suites in Southaven are David Patel and his brother Peter. David Patel says he is looking forward to working with the RiverKings this season. "We are very, very glad to be a part of the RiverKings family," he said.

David says his facility also provides some amenities not normally found in smaller lodging establishments. "They will have a good opportunity to use a computer in our business center," Patel says. "Usually in a small hotel they don't have a business center or a guest laundry room if they want to wash their clothes and things like that, as they will here."

RiverKings' Director of Business Operations Dave "Ab" Mattice is looking forward to working with the Patels this season. "I am very happy to welcome the Key West Inn and Suites, and its sister property Magnolia Inn and Suites into the RiverKings family. I am very impressed with Dave and his brother Peter's professionalism and eagerness to make this partnership work. With its close proximity to the DeSoto Civic Center, it will be great for visiting teams to have easy access."

The Patels also operate the Magnolia Inn and Suites next door and David says that facility opened up to a surviving family of Hurricane Katrina soon after the disaster by providing food and a reduced hotel rate to the family.

Season tickets remain available for RiverKings' hockey action this season and September 15th is the first day that single-game tickets may be purchased. For more information, contact a RiverKings' representative at 662-342-1755 today!
