SOUTHAVEN --- Scott Sheppard scored two goals and David Cacciola stopped 43 of 44 shots in the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs' 6-1 win over the Memphis RiverKings Tuesday night at the DeSoto Civic Center.

The Mudbugs dominated play in the first period; outshooting the RiverKings 20-10 and outscoring them 3-0. Memphis came back to control play in the second as they outshot the Mudbugs 23-11, but could not slip one past Cacciola.

The Mudbugs, who improved their record to 7-3-0 in the season series, built a 6-0 lead in the third before RiverKings forward Tim Plett scored his fourth of the season and third in the last two games at 9:12 of the period.

Guy St. Vincent started between the pipes and took the loss, giving up four goals before being replaced by Michael Dilorenzo 6:46 into the second period. Cacciola improved his season record to 14-4-4; including 4-1-0 versus Memphis.

The two teams will close out the season series with games at Bossier City on Tuesday and Thursday next week. Still to come this week, the RiverKings make a swing through South Texas with games at Corpus Christi on Thursday, at Laredo on Friday and at Rio Grande Valley on Saturday.
