RiverKings at Peabody, AutoZone Park

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- There will be a definite Mississippi RiverKings presence in downtown Memphis this Friday, August 27th, both at the city's most famous downtown hotel and at also at the home of its professional baseball team.

RiverKings mascot Sheldon the Turtle is set to be the "Honorary Duckmaster" for the famous ducks of the Peabody Hotel, 149 Union Avenue in Memphis, when the ducks return to the rooftop of the hotel for the evening at 5:00 PM Friday. The famous ducks have entered and left the hotel lobby fountain for about 75 years each day at 11:00 AM and at 5:00 PM, under the direction of current Duckmaster, Jason Sensat .

Following the March of the Peabody Ducks, Sheldon will make his way down the street to the home of the Pacific Coast League's Memphis Redbirds, AutoZone Park, 200 Union Avenue, for the Redbirds game that night against the Round Rock Express, at 7:05 PM Friday.

Along with rooting the Redbirds on to a victory, Sheldon will be honored to throw out the first pitch during pre-game activities prior to the start of the game.

The 19th season of RiverKings hockey will start October 15th, with the team's home opener on Saturday, October 16th, at 7:05 PM against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. Single game tickets will be available to the public for the first time at 10:00 AM this Monday, August 30th.
