RiverKings Announce Local Schools Fundraiser

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings, a program-related investment of Maddox Foundation, will partner with DeSoto County Schools for the 2013-2014 season to raise money for public education in DeSoto County.

"We are excited about our fundraising effort for DeSoto County Schools, which could raise over a million dollars for the schools," RiverKings President Robin Grindstaff Costa said.

DeSoto County Schools' Superintendent Milton Kuykendall echoed Costa's sentiments.

"I am grateful for the relationship DeSoto County Schools has with the RiverKings. I appreciate the support we are receiving this year with the fundraising opportunity," Kuykendall said. "The funds raised will be used to enhance the quality of education for our children."

To support the DeSoto County School's fundraiser with the RiverKings, go to any DeSoto County school website to download a $10 Red-Level ticket coupon. Redeem the coupon at the box office and $5 dollars from each ticket benefits the school.

The Maddox Foundation will make a donation to DeSoto County Schools at the end of the season based on the following criteria:

500 tickets per game average: $10,000 donation

1,000 tickets per game average: $15,000 donation

1,500 tickets per game average: $25,000 donation

2,000 tickets per game average: $50,000 donation

The RiverKings return home on Saturday, November 9 to take on the Peoria Rivermen at 7:05 p.m. Be sure to download the coupon on any DeSoto County School's website to raise money for local schools.
