 Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
Pittsburgh - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds travel to the State Capital for a Friday night match against the Harrisburg City Islanders at Skyline Sports Complex. Following the trip to City Island, the Riverhounds return to Highmark Stadium for an afternoon match against the Antigua Barracudas on Sunday. Carrying an eight-game undefeated streak into the weekend, the Riverhounds are focused on maintaining this form to continue their accent in the USL PRO standings.
City Islanders Outlook
Historically a fan-favorite, the Keystone Derby is circled at the beginning of the season by both clubs as the battle for Pennsylvania bragging rights. The two sides met on April 13 to inaugurate Highmark Stadium in front of a sold out crowd. Despite taking the lead in the 68th minute when second-half substitutes Jose Angulo and Matt Dallman connected on their first touches of the match, the Riverhounds could not hold off the City Islanders attack and fell to their intra-state rival, 2-1.
Andrew Marshall, a former City Islander, is eager to travel back to City Island. This will be the first time Marshall returns to Skyline Sports Complex for a game in new colors.
"City Island is a difficult venue for visiting teams to play at and the Islanders have been playing consistently well throughout the season," said Marshall. "We are heading into this game with a lot of confidence and it should make for a good matchup against the City Islanders. As a former player for the club, it will be nice to see some familiar faces from the staff and City Islander community, but ultimately we are going there to win."
The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kick off at Skyline Sports Complex.
Barracudas Outlook
On Sunday, the Riverhounds return to Highmark Stadium to meet Antigua Barracuda FC and open a five-game home stand. This will be the second and final match between the two clubs in the regular season. In their first meeting in late May, the Riverhounds defeated the Barracudas 2-0 in front of a crowd of 1,664 at Highmark Stadium. A goal each from Mike Seth and Dallman were all the home side would need to earn their second win of the season.
The Riverhounds and Barracudas will kick off at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
To kick off summer, the Riverhounds will be hosting the "Hounds Beach Bash" at Sunday's game. Fun free activities will be available for families in attendance, such as face painting and beach-themed family photos. Patrons will be able to sign up for our Beach Bash Dash to take place at halftime.
