Riverhawks win second straight

Davenport - The Quad Cities Riverhawks ABA Professional basketball team won their second game in a row to improve to 2-1 on the season. They defeated the St. Louis Stunners (2-2) 98-91.

The Riverhawks started out the first half slow. The Riverhawks could not get a call to save their life. It did not help that the Stunners were crashing the boards and out rebounding the Riverhawks. Bobby Bienaimee led the Riverhawks in the first half with 8 points and Anthony Davis chipped in 6 points. The Stunners were led by Kennard and Leroy Davis who both contributed 9 points. At half the Riverhawks had 33 points and the Stunners were on top with 44.

The Riverhawks came out of the locker room ready to play the second half. The Riverhawks started out the second half with a 12-2 run to bring them within one point of the Stunners. The Riverhawks Davis started the half with two 3 pointers bringing the momentum back to the Riverhawks. Ryan Edwards was the leading scorer with 21 points and Davis finished with 20 including 4 of 6 from 3 point land. Bienaimee finished with 12 rebounds, and Lonnie Randolph added 10 assists. The leading scorer for the Stunners was Leroy Davis with 15 points. The Riverhawks outscored the Stunners 65-47 in the second half to take the victory with a final score of Riverhawks 98, Stunners 91.

The Riverhawks are at home again tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. to take on the Minnesota Ripknees. Tickets are available by logging onto www.etix.com, visiting the Riverhawks office at the NW Bank Tower in Bettendorf or are available at Marycrest prior to the game.
