RiverHawks Fall to Ice Gators, 6-3

Lafayette, LA--The Louisiana IceGators took home the win against the Augusta RiverHawks, 6-3.

Louisiana found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The IceGators average 3.2 goals per game. By firing 34 shots on goal, Louisiana exceeded the 23.3 shots it averages per game this year.

The IceGators were led by Tyler Lyon, who dished out four assists.

Augusta was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and two majors for 28 minutes in penalty time. The RiverHawks had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. With 26 shots on target during the contest, Augusta exceeded the 18.5 shots it averages per game this year.

The RiverHawks were led by Myles McCauley, who racked up two goals and one assist. McCauley scored the first of his two goals at 19:18 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Louisiana.Casey Mignone provided the assist. McCauley's next tally made the score 4-2 Louisiana with 15:51 left in the third period. Augusta also got a goal from Jason Price as well. In addition, Augusta received assists from Michael Switzer, who had one.

The RiverHawks will be on the road until February 16. Their next contest is coming up on February 8 as the Team heads to Biloxi to face the Surge. Fans can watch the road games live at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta.
