RICHMOND, VA - Jason Cassells goal with 3:04 left in the 3rd period broke a 2-2 tie along with a solid 60 minutes sent a season high 7,412 home happy as the RiverDogs defeat the Elmira Jackals 3-2 for their first home win of the season. Dan Vandermeer and David Brosseau also tallied for the Dogs. Mike D'Alessandro got the win as he continues his stellar play. Defensively, the RiverDogs played well, allowing a season low 28 shots and a perfect 5 for 5 on the penalty kill. Offensively, the RiverDogs took 28 shots and was 2 for 7 on the power play.
Richmond and Elmira will faceoff again tomorrow afternoon at 4:05, and right after the game is Fox Post-Game Skate with the RiverDogs. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates and join the team on the ice for pictures, autographs and a lot of fun. Fans without skates can join in on the fun as well.
