Richmond RiverDogs News Release
December 9, 2005 (7-4 W) "Shootout at OK Corral" between the RiverDogs and Elmira Jackals saw the boys from Richmond prevail by the score of 7-4. Dan Vandermeer led the RiverDogs in scoring with four assists and two goal nights from forwards John DiPace and Mike Oliveira. One of Oliveira's goals was shorthanded. Joey Bastien enjoyed a great night with three points, one goal and two assists. Doug Groenestege was between the pipes as he stopped 40 of 44 shots to earn the victory. Attendance at the Richmond Coliseum: 3,142.
December 10, 2005(3-1 L) The RiverDogs went into battle against the Fort Wayne Komets and went down to defeat 3-1 in the first matchup between the two clubs this season. Mike Oliveira broke the 2-0 shutout early in the second period with a shorthanded tally, his second in two games. Mike D'Alessandro got the nod for the RiverDogs and stopped 35 of 38 Komet shots. Attendance at the Coliseum: 3,428.
December 11, 2005 (3-2 L) Elmira returned to Richmond and came away with a 3-2 regulation victory. It was only the second victory for the Jackals over the RiverDogs in eight meetings between the two sides. Elmira bolted out to a 2-0 lead before a pair of RiverDogs goals 1:09 apart with John DiPace and J.J. Wrobel getting the markers to tie the contest. Elmira's Mike Dombkiewicz got the game winner with 1:07 left in the second period. Doug Groenestege was in net for the RiverDogs and stopped 25 of 28 shots. The RiverDogs took advantage over the Jackals in shots, 33-28, the first time in 23 games that the RiverDogs have outshot the opposition in a game. Attendance: 2,383.

The RiverDogs will go on the road to face the Flint Generals and Rockford IceHogs on Friday, December 16th and Saturday, December 17th. The next home game for the RiverDogs will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 when the team plays host to the Elmira Jackals. Face-off is 7:05
