
RiverDogs sign AHL/IHL veteran forward

Richmond, VA â The Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League have signed LW David Hymovitz to a contract for the 2004/05 season. Hymovitz spent the past seven seasons playing in the AHL or IHL.
The Massachusetts native broke into pro hockey by scoring 39 goals for the ECHL's Columbus Chill in 1996/97. He moved on to the IHL and scored 46 goals with Indianapolis in 1998/99. Hymovitz spent last season with the Binghamton Senators and tallied 16 points in 70 games. He played all of the last four seasons in the AHL.
"His role has been checking line winger the past couple of seasons," said âDogs head coach Donny Martin. "We will turn him loose to put up the kind of numbers he's proven capable of," Martin added. Hymovitz was a teammate of the âDogs Mark Turner in Columbus. Hymovitz, a former Chicago Blackhawks draft pick, enjoyed a stellar college career at Boston College.
The âDogs now have 17 players under contract for 2004-'05: Brian Goudie, Paul Johnson, J.F. Picard, J.J. Wrobel, Luch Nasato, Jami Yoder, David Brosseau, Francis Belanger, Jordan Roach, Jonathan Gagnon, Jeff Sanger, Trevor Senn, Mark Turner, Ryan McIntosh, Sean Keene, Ryan Prentice, and Hymovitz.
