Beacons Hire Equipment Manager and Athletic Trainer

PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) are proud to announce the hiring of Dave Hamen and J.W. Aiken as the teams new Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager, respectively.

Dave Hamen, comes to Port Huron after working at Bowling Green State University for the hockey team as a volunteer trainer and equipment manager during the 2003-04 season. Hamen is a recent graduate of BGSU with a Bachelors of Science in Education with an emphasis in Sports Management, with an option of Athletic Training. This past summer he worked as an assistant trainer and first aid provider for the Oakland Raiders of the NFL.

J.W. Aiken also comes to Port Huron from Bowling Green State University. Aiken worked most recently as an Assistant Equipment Manager for the Lowell Lock Monstors of the AHL during the 2003-04 season. Aiken is also a recent graduate of BGSU with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a planned emphasis in Sports Management.
