RiverDogs play "Let's Make a Deal"

Richmond, VA-- The Richmond RiverDogs announce that the team has made a pair of trades with the Port Huron Flags and Flint Generals in efforts to beef up the roster for the upcoming 2005-2006 United Hockey League Schedule. General Manager/Coach Robbie S. Nichols traded Forward Mark Turner to the Port Huron Flags in exchange for Goaltenders Chad Alban and Tyler Masters. Nichols then traded Alban and Defenseman Roman Nadur to the Flint Generals for Center John DiPace and Forward Matt Goody.

Masters, the 5-9, 160 pound native of Calgary, ALB, is in his third season of professional hockey. Last season he split his time with the Louisiana IceGators of the ECHL and with the Fort Wayne Komets of the United Hockey League. In 37 games, Tyler posted a goals against average of 2.63, 21 victories along with a save percentage of .906. His first season, 2003-2004 was spent with the Cincinnati Cyclones.

DiPace hails from Clinton Township, MI and is entering his third season. The 5-11, 190 pound forward has spent his whole professional career playing under Coach Nichols in Flint. With the Generals, DiPace scored 92 points (36g, 56a) and 313 penalty minutes in 149 games. DiPace was runner up for UHL Rookie of the Year in 2003-2004 and appeared in that season's All-Star Game in Fort Wayne.

Goody is 6-2, 250 pounds and hails from Brighton, ONT. Last season, the tough forward played with the Port Huron Beacons of the UHL and scored 8 points (4g, 4a) along with 152 penalty minutes. In his third season, Matt also spent time with Cape Fear FireAntz of the Southeast Hockey League. In his 88 game career, he scored 6 goals, 11 points and 336 penalty minutes.
