RICHMOND, VA - Chris Ferguson's two goal night along with a three goal run in the second period was the difference as the RiverDogs defeat the Roanoke Valley Vipers 5-3 at SkateNation Plus and sweep the two game pre-season series between the two clubs. The RiverDogs and Vipers swapped goals in the first before Steve Crusco broke the tie 17 seconds into the second stanza. Chris Ferguson got the first of two at 3:19 to tie the score at 2. Petr Jelinek scored 14 seconds later to put the Vipers in front, 3-2. The ‘Dogs came back with three unanswered goals in a span of 7:11, Ferguson getting his second along with goals from Bobby Kukulka and Warren Cooper. RiverDogs goaltender Mike D'Allesandro was phenomenal in nets stopping all 26 shots after he replaced Tyler Masters midway in the second period for the win. As was the story last night, both teams spent plenty of time in the sin bin as referee Keith Kaval whistled both teams for 124 penalty minutes.

The RiverDogs Home Opener is this Friday night, October 21, 2005 as the team plays host to the Adirondack Frostbite at the Richmond Coliseum. Face-off is 7:35. Tickets are available at the Richmond Coliseum box office or by contacting Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.
