Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced Saturday that the United Hockey League club has loaned goaltender Michel Robinson to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and defenseman Nathan Lutz to the Manitoba Moose (AHL). Both players will not skate in either of the IceHogs exhibition games, including tonight's against the Quad City Mallards at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m.

Robinson returns to Milwaukee after getting loaned to the Admirals three times last season. The UHL's reigning Goaltender of the Year went to training camp with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) prior to coming to Rockford for IceHogs camp. Robinson started one game for the Ads last season, picking up a 4-3 win over the St. John's Maple Leafs.

"It's been a successful start for loaning players to the American Hockey League for us," said Martinson. "We have three players up in the AHL and we haven't even played a preseason game yet."

Lutz went to Training Camp earlier this fall with the Moose. The Hogs top defenseman each of the past two seasons played for the Admirals and Wolves during the regular season in '04-05. The blue liner suited up for seven combined games with the two clubs. Lutz was a member of the 2003-04 Calder Cup Champion Admirals squad.

The IceHogs also have defenseman Evgueni Nourislamov in Milwaukee. Nourislamov went to Training Camp with the Admirals and made the team's opening day roster. The d-man hasn't played in either of the Admirals first two games.

Opening Night: Friday, October 21 vs. Elmira Jackals. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs open their seventh season on Friday against the Jackals. The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive a 2005-06 IceHogs Magnet Schedule courtesy of FatWallet.com and 17-WTVO.
