TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The seventh of 17 meetings and the fourth of eight in Richmond. Richmond is 2-4 vs. Danbury, 1-2 at home. David Hymovitz and Francis Belanger have six points vs. the East Division leading Trashers. Doug Christiansen has six vs. the âDogs. Richmond is third in the Eastern Division, six points behind Adirondack. Danbury is five points up on Adirondack.
LAST ACTION: Richmond beat Adirondack 8-3 Wednesday. Richmond blew the game open with four first period goals. Jonathan Gagnon had two goals and an assist. Ryan Prentice had four assists. Danbury lost to Adirondack 8-5 Tuesday. The Frostbite scored seven power play goals in that game. Brent Gretzky had two goals and an assist.
'DOG BITES: The eight goals scored by the âDogs Wednesday is the most Richmond has scored in a game since the âDogs first ever home game October 31, 2003. Richmond is 4-0-1 in their last five road games vs. Eastern Division opponents. The 'Dogs fired a season high 46 shots on goal Sunday vs. Adirondack. Francis Belanger has points in three straight games. Richmond is 3-1 four games into a stretch of seven straight vs. Eastern Division opponents. David Hymovitz is tied for ninth in the league in scoring. Trevor Senn is second in penalty minutes and tied for second in majors. Ryan Prentice is fourth in shooting percentage. Kyle Sheen leads the UHL in rookie penalty minutes. Sheen is second in the league in game winning goals by a rookie. Mark Langdon is tied for third in rookie game winning goals. Mark Turner is tied for second in the league in shorthanded goals.
TRASHERS NOTES: Danbury leads the UHL in penalty minutes. The Trashers are third in goals and second in shots. The Trashers have beaten the âDogs three straight times. Danbury has won five of their last six games. They have won three straight on the road.
