TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The 10th of 12 meetings, the fifth of six here. ‘Dogs are 3-5-1 vs. Flint, 2-1-1 here. The Generals trail the ‘Dogs in the Eastern Conference race by four points but have a game in hand. Jay Murphy and Kevin St. Jacques have eight points vs. the Generals. Jim Duhart has 15 vs. the ‘Dogs. Flint is out-scoring the ‘Dogs 18-4 in the third period. Richmond leads the Eastern Conference by four points over Flint. The Generals have a game in hand. They are thee points in front of Port Huron.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Dogs lost 4-1 at Elmira Sunday. The Jackals broke a 2-1 game open with two goals 59 second apart early in the third period. Jay Murphy scored for Richmond. The ‘Dogs out-shot the Jackals 41-32. The Generals lost 3-2 in a shootout at Port Huron Sunday. Flint scored twice in the third period but went 0-6 on the power play and allowed a shorthanded goal.

‘DOG BITES: The RiverDogs have clinched a spot in the Colonial Cup Playoffs. Richmond has won three straight home games by a combined score of 19-4. The ‘Dogs have posted back to back home shutouts. The ‘Dogs are averaging 41 shots on goal per game in their last four games. Richmond's 7-0 win over Elmira Saturday was their largest margin of victory this season. The crowd of 8,410 Saturday was the second largest of the season. The ‘Dogs had a streak of power play goals in six straight games (their longest of the season) end Sunday in Elmira. 18 of Richmond's 25 losses have been by three or more goals. The ‘Dogs streak of six straight games scoring four or more goals ended Sunday. A streak of 16 straight successful penalty kills ended Sunday. Jay Murphy has points in five straight games. Derek Schutz has points in four straight. Schutz 34 PIM Saturday is one short of the club record. Francis Belanger's six game scoring streak ended Sunday. Richard Pitirri's six game scoring streak ended Sunday. Dave Shields four game goal scoring streak ended Sunday. J.J. Wrobel had a four game scoring run end Sunday. Kevin St. Jacques and Luch Nasato had three game point streaks end Sunday. Nasato scored his 13th goal of the season Saturday equaling a career high. Richmond is in a stretch of five games in six nights. The ‘Dogs are 8-1 in road shootouts. Richmond has 19 wins at home and 19 on the road. The 16 shots on goal allowed by the ‘Dogs Friday equaled a season low. By Saturday the ‘Dogs will have played seven games in nine days and 11 in 18. Maxime Gingras is now tied for second in the league in shutouts with six, one short of the UHL record. Jay Murphy is tied for 15th in the UHL in scoring. Kevin St. Jacques is tied for 19th. The ‘Dogs lead the UHL in PIM. Gingras is the UHL Goalie of the Week.

GENERALS NOTES: The Generals feature three of the UHL's top 18 scorers (Bobby Reynolds is second, Jim Duhart is sixth, and Martin Woods is 18th. Duhart leads the league in goals with 51. He has back to back hat tricks vs. the ‘Dogs. The Generals lead the UHL in penalty killing.
