Charleston RiverDogs News Release
(Charleston, SC)- The Charleston RiverDogs Friday announced several front office changes for the upcoming 2005 season.
RiverDogs Media Relations Coordinator and play-by-play broadcaster Dan Lehv will be leaving the club to take over as Director of Marketing for the St. Paul Saints in the independent Northern League, effective December 1.
Lehv was named South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year in 2004. He began as a RiverDogs intern and pre- and post-game radio host in 2002 before assuming full-time responsibilities the following season.
The RiverDogs and St. Paul Saints are owned and operated by the Goldklang Group, a firm based in New Jersey.
"I just hope he enjoys the climate change," RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols said. "In all seriousness, though, while Dan will be missed in Charleston, we are thrilled that he has the opportunity to advance his career through our ownership group."
In other front office news, Harold Craw has been named Director of Ticket Sales. His main responsibilities will include season tickets, mini-plans, groups and picnic sales. Craw is entering his third year with the RiverDogs and holds a masters degree in Sports Management from East Tennessee State University.
Former RiverDogs Director of Marketing and Promotions Stacy Danosky has accepted a position with Veeck Advertising Professionals. The firm, co-founded by Roger Gaither and RiverDogs President Mike Veeck, handles the Charleston RiverDogs account as well as the advertising and marketing for each ballclub affiliated with the Goldklang Group.
Moving from the Brockton Rox in the independent Northeast League, Jim Pfander takes over as Director of Promotions. Originally from Cleveland, OH, Pfander graduated from Ohio University and was responsible for coordinating some of the most memorable sports promotions of 2004 including "Grady Little Appreciation Night (with bobble-arm giveaway)" and "Grandstand Manager Night."
Taking over as RiverDogs Box Office Manager is Jake Terrell. He joined the club as a Food and Beverage Manager during the 2004 season after spending the 2003 campaign with the Asheville Tourists.
Jason Fuller has worked his way from an internship in the summer of 2003 to a full-time Food and Beverage Manager entering the 2005 season. Fuller is a 2003 graduate of The Citadel.
The 2005 RiverDogs season begins April 7 when the RiverDogs host the Augusta Greenjackets at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Season tickets and mini-plans are available now by contacting the RiverDogs Front Office at (843) 723-7241.
