RiverCity Rage announce 2008 schedule

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team has released their 2008 schedule. The Rage, now entering their fourth season and second in the United Indoor Football League, will open the regular season Sunday, March 9th at home as they host the Colorado Ice. Once again this season, the Rage will play their home games at The Family Arena in St. Charles.
Other highlighted games include first looks at two UIF franchises. On Saturday, April 19th the Rage welcome the Wichita Wild to town. This will be the expansion Wild's first season in the league. The following week, Saturday, April 26th, the Sioux Falls Storm head south to battle the Rage. The Storm are the three-time defending UIF Champions and have not lost since July 15, 2005, a stretch of 38 consecutive victories.
The UIF will consist of two conferences, Eastern and Western. The Rage, along with the Bloomington (IL) Extreme, Omaha Beef, and Wichita will comprise the Eastern Conference. The Western Conference features the Storm, Sioux City Bandits, Billings Outlaws, and the Ice. The UIF regular season ends the weekend of June 14th followed by three rounds of playoffs. United Bowl IV is scheduled for the weekend of July 12th.
"We couldn't be happier with this schedule," said Rage GM Matt Jones. "Coming off a great year last season, we are expecting nothing less in 2008. We didn't have the opportunity to play Omaha or Sioux Falls last year and we welcome the challenge from both great teams. We have made the playoffs each of our three seasons and will continue that trend again this year. We have come close in the past but have not won the championship. This year we are all looking forward to a triumphant conclusion to our season on July 12th."
