Albany River Rats News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that the American Hockey League club will hold two separate "Teddy Bear Toss" events at home games on December 7th at the Times Union Center and on December 15th at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Fans are encouraged to bring unwrapped plush stuffed animals to the game and throw them on to the ice during the "Toss", which will be held during one of the game's intermissions when the River Rats host Portland at 7pm. Fans will receive raffle tickets for great River Rat prizes by bringing a new and unwrapped toy to donate at the Advance Auto Parts Fan Relations table located behind section 128 on the concourse. All Teddy Bears and toys collected on Friday will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
"The River Rats Teddy Bear Toss tradition is a source of great pride for us during the holiday season," said River Rats President/CEO S. Garen Szablewski. "This year we are doubling our efforts in order to include our great fans and neighbors in Glens Falls. We hope that everyone in attendance for these two games will give what they can to support the underprivileged children in the local community."
The Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, December 15th will take place at the first of three River Rats regular season games at the Glens Falls Civic Center during the 2007-08 campaign. All the teddy bears and toys collected at the December 15th game when the River Rats host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a special 5pm face-off will be donated to the Glens Falls Hospital.
