Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves defenseman and University of Wisconsin graduate BRIAN FAHEY and center and University of Massachusetts-Amherst graduate MATT ANDERSON will make appearances at local libraries next week as part of the 13th year of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, sponsored by Borders. Members of the team will make more than 30 library visits throughout the Chicago area this season in conjunction with the program, which has reached more than 400,000 children since its inception in 1995.

The appearances are scheduled for:

Mon., Dec. 10: Brian Fahey Northbrook Library 1201 Cedar Lane 7:00 p.m.

Tue., Dec. 11: Matt Anderson Indian Trails Library in Wheeling 355 S. Schoenbeck Rd. 7:00 p.m.

FAHEY, a Glenview native, and ANDERSON will discuss the role reading plays in their lives as professional athletes and reinforce the importance of recreational reading, as well as highlight the resources that libraries have to offer. The Wolves players will also dress a child in hockey equipment, raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.

The "Read to Succeed" program encourages children to spend more time at the library and to read for fun. Every participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the opportunity to win prizes including Wolves notebooks, "Read to Succeed" t-shirts and tickets to home games for achieving their reading goals.

Each year, the Wolves reach more than 30,000 children through "Read to Succeed" and the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems.
