
River Rats Announce Roster Moves

Albany River Rats News Release
Albany N.Y. â The Albany River Rats announced that the Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils made four separate player transactions today.
Goaltender Matus Kostur was recalled from the Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL, while forward Brett Clouthier and defenseman Phil Cole have been reassigned to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. In addition, right wing Jiri Bicek has been re-called by New Jersey under emergency conditions.
Kostur, who has yet to play any games for Albany this season, turned in a 2-1 record with a 2.19 goals against average and a .917 save percentage in five games for the Cottonmouths. Clouthier went scoreless with 30 penalty minutes in 10 contests for Albany, while Cole produced one assist in six games for the River Rats during the 2003-04 campaign.
Bicek ranked second on the Albany roster with 13 (6-7-13) points at the time of his first recall of the year. He posted National Hockey League career highs of five goals and six assists in 44 games during the 2002-03 season, and was a member of the Devils' 2003 Stanley Cup Championship squad.
The River Rats return to action this weekend with a pair of games at Pepsi Arena. The Rats square off against the Springfield Falcons on Friday night at 7:00pm. Albany then hosts the Stanley Cup on Saturday night when the club takes on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 7:00pm face-off.
