Falcons Recall Desmarais from Adirondack

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that the club has recalled center James Desmarais (deh-mahr-AY) from the Adirondack IceHawks of the United Hockey League (UHL).

Desmarais, 24, has registered 22 points (9g, 13a) in 17 games since signing with Adirondack on November 4th. The Montreal native is tied for second on the IceHawks and 13th in the UHL in scoring.

Desmarais posted 24 points (8g, 16a) in 37 contests with Springfield during the 2000-01 season. The 5'10", 174-pound forward recorded 59 points (26g, 33a) in 59 games in his first professional campaign of 1999-00 with the ECHL's Peoria Rivermen. He also collected two assists in eight AHL contests with the Worcester IceCats that season. Desmarais was selected with the St. Louis Blues' 10th choice (9th round, 270th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Desmarais is a nephew of Boston Bruins' legend Ray Bourque.
