GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Rise on Wednesday announced the schedule for their inaugural 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation season.

Under head coach Cathy George, the Rise will begin a 24-match schedule when they host the Columbus Fury at Van Andel Arena on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

Each of the seven Pro Volleyball Federation franchises will play every other team four times throughout the campaign, serving as host for two matches. The Rise will compete across the country, making stops in Atlanta; Columbus, Ohio; Las Vegas; Omaha, Nebraska; Orlando, Florida; and San Diego. The Rise's slate concludes with a season-high three-match homestand from May 4-12 and includes season-high three-match road trips from Feb. 23-March 4, March 20-28, and April 20-28.

Pro Volleyball Federation will hold a four-team postseason championship at the end of the regular season, with the top four teams competing in the Pro Volleyball Federation Championship. The event will consist of two semifinal matches and one championship match.

"We look forward to competing at the highest level with teams across the country and creating lasting memories with our fans in Grand Rapids and across the state of Michigan. This promises to be a special year both on and off the court."

Highlights of the 2024 home schedule include:

- Four prime dates (four Saturdays) out of 12 home matches;

- Opening and finishing the season at home;

- Four Sunday matches;

- One back-to-back (May 4-5);

- One match starting at noon (March 9 vs. Columbus);

- Four matches starting at 4 p.m. (Feb. 18 vs. Atlanta Vibe, March 17 vs. Las Vegas, May 5 vs. San Diego, and May 12 vs. Omaha Supernovas);

- Matches on St. Patrick's Day (March 17 vs. Las Vegas), April Fools' Day (April 1 vs. Atlanta Vibe) and Mother's Day (May 12 vs. Omaha Supernovas).
