NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2010 - The Washington Wizards today signed Mike Harris of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Harris is the 15th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2009-10 season and joins 71 other NBA players with NBA D-League experience.

He has scored in double figures in all 28 games, while recording 13 double-doubles this season. A key contributor to the Vipers this season, he led the team in scoring on 17 occasions, and rebounding 12 times, including an NBA D-League season-high 48 points and 24 rebounds, in a 126-116 overtime road victory over the Dakota Wizards on Jan. 19.

This is the 6-6 forward's second stint in the NBA this season as he earned the season's third GATORADE Call-Up when he signed with the Houston Rockets on Dec. 23 where he averaged 2.5 points and 6.0 minutes in two games for the Rockets.

A four-year contributor at Rice, Harris averaged 20.6 points and 11.7 rebounds in 31 games during his senior season and was named NABC All-NCAA District 9 first team for his efforts that year. He finished his collegiate career as Rice's all-time leading scorer (2,104 points) and rebounder (1,111 rebounds).

Harris is expected to join the Wizards this afternoon and be available tonight when the team faces the Memphis Grizzlies at the Verizon Center.
