Arkansas RimRockers News Release

Little Rock, Arkansas - Pape Sow scored 10 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Arkansas RimRockers defeated the Roanoke dazzle 110-96, improving their record to 4-2. Clay Tucker led the team in scoring with 19 points while Kareem Reid followed with a double-double, posting 18 points and contributing 10 assists.

"I knew we were ready to play once we woke up. By the second quarter I knew we were going to do well," Head Coach Joe Harge said. "Roanoke is a big, physical team and I'm please with the way my guys stepped up to the challenge."

The Dazzle, led by Isiah Victor's 13 points, pulled ahead early in the contest and led the RimRockers by as much as 10 points. Victor (31 points) and Andreas Grundy (26 points) combined for over half the Dazzle's points, but it wasn't enough to contain a break-out fourth quarter by the RimRockers.

The RimRockers shot 44.1-percent versus the Dazzle's 42.7-percent from the field, but the deciding factor of the game was the RimRockers' ability to convert on fast break plays. Arkansas scored 25 points on the run while the Dazzle only connected for 13 points. Roanoke committed 35 costly turnovers compared to the RimRockers' 22 and Arkansas stole the ball twice as many times (20 to 10) to edge the win.

The RimRockers see action again December 10 when they face the 5-1 Albuquerque Thunderbirds at Alltel Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Guest celebrity James Denton of the hit show Desperate Housewives will be available at 6:30 for autographs.
