United Indoor Football is proud to announce Players-of-the-Week awards for Week 18 of the 2005 season. Weekly awards are presented in three categories: Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.

Week 18 awards in the Special Teams category is Peoria kicker Matt Russell. The 5'11", 190 pound Ohio State University alum was key to helping the Rough Riders get a 41-37 victory over the Evansville Bluecats last Saturday. The Rough Riders kicker scored a total of 9 points in the winning effort Saturday night. Russell connected on three of five extra point attempts, and hit on field goals of 31 and 32 yards. This is the third weekly award for Russell, who also received the honors in Week 4 and 14. "The third times a charm, this is a great thing for Matt to be recognized and it could lead to Russell being named special teams player of the year in the UIF." Said Coach Bruce Cowdrey on Russell's achievement.

Russell and the Rough Riders host the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in the last regular season contest of the 2005 UIF season on Saturday, July 23 at 7:05pm and are offering half price tickets. The Rough Riders play-off status is to be determined by the outcome of the contest.
