Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
Saskatchewan Roughriders President/CEO Jim Hopson announced today that 620 CKRM will retain the team's radio broadcast rights for the next two seasons.
The deal will provide the Roughriders with a substantial increase over the previous rights fees. It was mutually agreed upon that financial details of the new two year agreement will not be disclosed.
620 CKRM, now entering their 24th consecutive season as the voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, first obtained the radio rights in 1983. Play by play announcer Rod Pedersen will be back for his seventh season behind the microphone, while colour commentator Carm Carteri returns for his 17th season.
"We look at this deal as very beneficial for both parties," stated Roughriders President/CEO Jim Hopson. "CKRM has been a great supporter of this club for a number of years and we look forward to continuing that partnership."
The Saskatchewan Roughriders look forward to another exciting two years of 620 CKRM-Roughrider Football radio broadcasts. The CKRM Roughrider Radio Network will continue to broadcast all pre-season, regular season, and playoff games, as well as in-depth pre- and post-game coverage packages.
The 2005 Roughrider Broadcast Network will include:
620 CKRM (Regina)
CJWW (Saskatoon)
GX94 (Yorkton)
