LAST GAME: The 'Riders lost their third straight game on Thursday night, coming up just short against San Antonio, 10-9.

Richard Bleier had his shortest outing of the year, as he

lasted just 0.2 innings and gave up six runs. Missions first baseman

Matt Clark hit two home

runs, including a grand slam, to finish the night with eight RBI. 'Riders third baseman

Mitch

Hilligoss made his first start and went 3-4 with a triple. The two teams combined to throw 10 pitchers in the game. Frisco had the tying run on third and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but

Matt Lawson flied to center field to end the game.

ANOTHER STRONG ARM: Frisco's bullpen has played a large part in helping the team stay atop the Texas League South. One of the newest additions is hard-throwing righty,

Josh

Lueke. Since being promoted from Hickory on 5/21, Lueke has appeared in 6 games and has 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings. His SO/9 ratio is 15.3. He had 10 saves in 17 appearances for Hickory this year and struck out 36 in 19.2 innings for a SO/9 ratio of 16.5. His fastball has reached 97 and 98 mph consistently this year.

JUNE SWOON?: The 'Riders are 3-4 in June and have lost three straight games. The pitching staff has given up a combined 21 runs over the last two games. The starting pitchers have a combined 25.11 ERA (13 ER/4.2 IP).

POWER OUTAGE: After hitting 28 home runs in the first two months, the 'Riders have only hit one home run so far in June (2-run HR by Matt Lawson on 6/10 vs. San Antonio). Frisco hit 9 home runs in 21 April games. The 'Riders hit 19 homers in 29 May games. The 'Riders are 16-5 when hitting a home run in 2010.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE: On the season, the 'Riders are 6-2 in extra innings (3-0 at home, 3-2 on the road). Their 6 extra innings wins are tops in the Texas League. Frisco has played in 8 extra innings games, tied for most in the league.

KEEPING IT CLOSE: The RoughRiders are best in the Texas League in 1-run games (11-5) and are first with a record of 23-8 when scoring first in the Texas League.

SATURDAY'S STARTER: Blake Beavan (8-3, 2.82) will be looking to start another long winning streak. The big righty went 6-0 in May, but lost his last start on 6/06 at Tulsa. He went seven innings and allowed three runs on eight hits. The 'Riders fell 4-1 to the Drillers, but Beavan did extend his quality start streak to six games. He leads the Texas League and Rangers minor-leaguers in wins.
