Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release

Green Bay, Wisconsin- Pat Cannone scored 47 seconds into overtime to give the RoughRiders a 4-3 win over the host Green Bay Gamblers Saturday night.

Cannone batted a Jacob Cepis feed out of mid air and into the back of the net to give the Riders the come-from-behind victory.

A sterling 31-save effort from Cedar Rapids goaltender Richard Bachman set the stage for Cannone's late heroics.

The Riders had to rally from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits in the third period just to get to sudden death. The Gamblers were closing in on a regulation win until David Boehm's second goal of the night evened the score at three with just 1:35 left in the third. Boehm blasted the equalizer in off the stick of Green Bay netminder Adam Avramenko.

Ryan Santana had staked Green Bay to a 3-2 lead by crashing the net and jamming the puck over the goal line at 10:52 of the third.

Santana's goal brought the Riders up short after Cedar Rapids had battled back to even the score earlier in the third on goals from Boehm and Kevin Wehrs.

The Riders were on the power play when Boehm got Cedar Rapids on the scoreboard for the first time by burying a rebound just 40 seconds into the period.

Wehrs rifled a Cannone centering pass home to knot it up at two apiece at the 6:59 mark.

The Gamblers produced the game's first two goals in the second period. Anthony Hayes charged into the goalmouth to give Green Bay a 1-0 lead at 8:25 of the second. At 16:33 Sergio Somma double advantage with a wrist shot from the slot.
