Victor RailRiders News Release
Game 1 turned out to be a pitching duel as there were just 6 hits by both teams combined. Both starting pitchers went the distance in the short 7-inning game.
Luke Tomczyk got the start for the Riders and got the complete game shutout for the win. He went all 7 innings, giving up just 2 hits and getting 4 strikeouts. He improves to 2-1 on the year.
Clayton Spiker took the loss for Newark. He went all 6 innings giving up just 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
The RailRiders scored their two runs in the very first inning and never looked back. Tommy Wagner walked and Brady Acker doubled. Mark Cardinalli grounded out to bring in Wagner, then with 2 outs, Evan Fernandez delivered an RBI single to give Victor the 2-0 lead.
Fernandez finished the game 2-2 with an RBI. Wagner and Acker each finished with a hit a piece.
It was all Newark in game 2 as the Pilots won by a commanding score of 11-4.
Newark struck first, scoring twice in the top of the 4th. A hit batter, an error, and a couple of hits got the Pilots on the board before starting pitcher Jesse Bogacz could retire the side.

Martin finished the game with 2 hits, including a 3 run homer, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.
