Austin Bruins News Release

AUSTIN, MN - Carson Riddle would seal the deal on the first overtime winner for the Bruins as Austin tops Aberdeen, 3-2.

The last time Aberdeen came to town, they shut out the Bruins 8-0 over the weekend series back in December. The Bruins wanted to put that in the review mirror as the two teams met tonight inside Riverside Arena. Austin Salani would break the proverbial ice at 4:09 of the 1st period, Damon Furuseth would pick up his 8th assist on the season. 11 minutes, would pick up his 6th goal on the year, off a pass from Ocean Wallace to give the Bruins a then 2-0 lead. Aberdeen would salvage one as Ronan Walsh would make it 2-1 after the first 20 minutes of play inside Riverside Arena.

The second period would start and end the same way it began at 2-1 until the 3:53 mark of the 3rd period when Kyle Gaffney would get an unassisted tally to tie things up at 2-2. 60 minutes of regulation would not be enough as we would go into overtime. Carson Riddle would call game, as the Captain would get his 14th of the season to secure the Bruins' first overtime winner of the season. Klayton Knapp would stop 23 of the 25 shots he would face.

Both teams are back at it tomorrow night, with puck drop set at 7:05 PM.
