
Richmond Takes Series Opener Over RiverHawks

Richmond, INâ The Richmond Roosters defeated the Rockford RiverHawks 3-1 in the opener of a three-game series.
Richmond scored first in the bottom of the fourth inning when Drew Miller drove in a run and reached on a fielder's choice. Richmond added a run in the sixth inning on Josh Hollingsworth's RBI single making the score 2-0.
Rich Austin hit a solo home run in the seventh inning scoring the RiverHawks only run of the game.
Matt Schweitzer (3-4) picked up the win for Richmond. Chad Sosebee picked up his fifth save of the season. Jaime Saldana (2-1) took the loss for Rockford.
