Tampa, Fla. - The Florida State League named Tampa Yankees RHP Luis Severino Pitcher of the Week today. This honor was for games played June 23 - June 29, 2014.
Severino pitched on June 25th and got his first Tampa Yankees win. He had a quality start throwing six innings with six K's. He didn't allow a run or a hit and only gave up one walk for an ERA of 0.00. Severino joined the Tampa Yankees roster on June 20th after he was promoted from the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs.
This is the second year of professional baseball for Severino. He is ranked No. 9 by Baseball America for Top Prospects in the Yankees organization.
