
Florida State League Names Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period June 23 "" June 29, 2014 were announced today by the Florida State League.
The Player of the Week was Brevard County Manatees Infielder Orlando Arcia. In seven (7) games he had 16 hits in 33 plate appearances for a .485 batting average. His hits included two (2) homeruns, one (1) triple, and six (6) doubles. He drove in 13 runs and scored eight (8) times. He also had one (1) stolen base. His OBP was .485 and his slugging average was .909. Orlando is in his third year of professional baseball and he resides in Anaco, Venezuela.
The Pitcher of the Week was Tampa Yankees Right-Hander Luis Severino. He started one (1) game, recorded a win, and had a 0.00 ERA. In six (6) innings pitched he allowed no runs, no hits, walked one (1), and struck out six (6) batters. Luis is in his second year of professional baseball and resides in Sabana De La Mar, DR.
