Rhinos Ready to Battle Railhawks

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rhinos return to the road this Saturday when they take on the Carolina Railhawks from Wake Med Stadium in Cary, N.C. This will be the first time that Rhinos Head Coach Darren Tilley will lead his squad against former teammate Scott Schweitzer. The two players helped deliver the 1998 A-League and 1999 U.S. Open Cup titles to Rochester.

The Rhinos are currently struggling to find their scoring touch, having been shutout in five of their six matches played. They are in last place with a 0-4-2 mark while the Railhawks have yet to be beaten (3-0-2) in league play. Carolina features former Rhinos Connolly Edozian and Frankie Sanfilippo. Also in the lineup for the home team are Rochester native Jamil Walker and 2007 USL-1 points leader Dan Antoniuk.

Rochester holds a 2-0-1 record against Carolina all-time, including a 0-0-1 mark on the road. Saturday's match can be heard live on Country 107.3 fm and www.mycountry fm.com. In addition, the match can be seen at www.usllive.com.

PALGUTA NAMES TO USL-1 TEAM OF THE WEEK Rochester Rhinos defender Scott Palguta was named to the USL-1 Team of the Week this week for his performance against the Seattle Sounders and Charleston Battery. Palguta scored the game-tying goal in the 90th minute at Seattle while helping Rochester limit the Sounders and Battery to just one goal each. It is the second time a Rhino has been selected to the Team of the Week.

RHINOS WOMEN SET TO OPEN SEASON AT HOME

The Rochester Rhinos women are set to open their season this weekend when they take on the Western Mass Pioneers Women at PAETEC Park on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. Last season the Rhinos (W) finished with a 5-7 record and hosted the W-League playoffs at PAETEC Park. They are led by last season's leading scorer, Gretchen Miller (10+1=21) and midfielders Liz Masterson and Alex Sahlen.

The Pioneers have played one game this season, dropping their only contest by a 2-0 score to the Toronto Lady Lynx. The two teams did not meet in 2007

The Rhinos women are in their third season under Rhinos ownership and operate in United Soccer League's W-League. The W-League features 41 teams in the United States and Canada.
