Rhinos Legends Game: First Round Picks

Rochester, NY - The Rochester Rhinos have announced the first two players selected by Team Andracki & Team Demmin for the Rhinos Legends Game on Saturday, June 27th at Sahlen's Stadium. Last week the Rhinos announced Hall of Fame coaches Francisco Escos & Frank Odoi as the coaching staff for this special alumni game.

Craig Demmin won the right to select first in the Rhinos Legends Draft after winning the coin toss at the Rhinos offices located at Sahlen's Stadium.

The first overall pick in the Rhinos Legends Draft is midfielder Lenin Steenkamp for Team Demmin. Lenin was the inaugural player inducted into the Rhinos Hall of Fame in 2011 after a 10-year career with the Rhinos that spanned from 1996-2005. He holds the team record most regular & post season games played, games started and minutes played. Lenin finished his Rhinos career with a total of 43 goals & 35 assists in all competitions.

Team Andracki selected Doug Miller as the second overall pick in the Rhinos Legends Draft. Miller spent seven seasons with the Rhinos from 1996-1999 & 2003-2005. He led the Rhinos in scoring three times during his career in 1996, 1997 & 2003. In 1997, Doug led the A-League with 23 goals and 51 total points. These figures are both Rhinos single-season records. Doug finished his career as the Rhinos leader in goals scored and total points and was inducted in to the Rhinos Hall of Fame in 2012.

The Rhinos Legends game will be a chance to celebrate the past as we continue to move forward into the new era of soccer in America and the USL.
