RGV Killer Bees Hosts First Annual Teddy Bear Toss

December 3, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees will be hosting its first ever Teddy Bear Toss at the Pink at the Rink game presented by Doctors Hospital at Renaissance on Saturday, December 7 at 7:05 p.m. at the State Farm Arena against the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

A teddy bear toss is a popular hockey tradition held all over the United States and Canada during the Christmas season. The first ever Teddy Bear toss is thought to have originated in Kitchener, Ontario by the Kitchener Rangers. Killer Bees President, Bill Stewart describes the event as one of the most exciting fan-participation events of the year. Fans are asked to bring stuffed teddy bears to the game and throw them onto the ice once the home team scores its first goal. The toys will be donated to Toys for Tots and other local charities to put a smile on the faces of less fortunate children during this holiday season.

The Killer Bees will also play Friday, December 6th at 7:05 pm.

To purchase tickets visit ticketmaster.com or the State Farm Arena Box Office. For more information contact the Killer Bees at (956) 843-5651 or email info@killerbeeshockey.com.
